I've read quite a lot that the above supplements are very good for the heart when its CHF but first I dont know how much of what you read is scientific and also how you would find out if they react with current medications. They always say ask your GP but a lot have no idea about alternative medications
thanks

No its for my Mum. Her current GP is not very proactive. For example I have been talking to a US cardiologist and he says she needs her meds changing etc but the GP says she wants to leave everything as it is as she is 98 so I have to suggest everything myself. I cant even get to talk to a UK cardiologist myself until she gets referred
If you can afford it, she could see a cardiologist privately but would still likely need a GP referral although I managed to see a neurologist a few years ago without a referral. I just rang his secretary. Her age shoudl make o difference to changing her medication. My mother in law was 94 and had several blackouts/falls. She was finally taken to hospital where they took her off ALL her meds and started from scratch. It turned out she'd been treated for his BP for years by her GP when she didn't have it.
