Hi, My advise would be, you were seen by health professionals in a Hospital, id say go with what they said and be reassured that they know what they're talking about.
I have no medical qualifications and can't give you advice, but if I were you I'd want to see my GP with a view to a referral to a cardiologist.
It's nothing urgent, but sleep apnea is well established as a common co-morbidity with cardiovascular disease, and that's something that should be checked out by medical professionals.
I recall one piece of research said just under 50% of patients with sleep apnea had heart disease, and another piece of search placed the link at closer to 80%. Here's a piece of research that spells out the link between sleep apnea and heart disease/high blood pressure/arrhythmia,
Forgive me these are general ramblings but may be applicable. Often arrhythmias can be triggered by food. A friend has stopped coffee, alcohol, chocolate and spicy foods, and is now off medication. Another trigger is stress but that is far harder to eliminate.
You also have BP and sleep apnea. These are often connected with being overweight. If this is the case I would suggest you try the BHF recommended Mediterranean diet limiting total carbs to 100gm per day.
My understanding of Bisoprolol is that it's likely to lower your BP. Because it reduces the uptake of adrenaline and noradrenaline by the heart thus slowing the heart and indirectly lowering BP.At least that is what I have read about it.
I was on 2.5mg and the cardiologist recommended coming off it because I felt dozy and he said that the damage to my heart by the MI (1 year ago) was minor.
My resting BP went from 60ish on BS to 70-75.
If you do come off BS do it gradually over a few weeks..
I would add that since I came off BS I do get palpitations. The belief is that I possibly have AF and the BS was hiding it. I have bought a Kardio mobile at the suggestion of the cardiologist so he can look at the output, since arrhythmias are hard to track down
I usd to take cilazapril but for some reason we can no longer get it. They gave me losartan instead. I take 1mg of bisoprolol and 12.5 losartan each day. My BP varies between 99/85-115/75. I sleep like a log but I think that is the bisoprolol.`
