I had a heart attack Sept 2018 with stent fitted then a double bypass Jan 2019 to be honest I've struggled ever since with various problems!! But my question today is has anybody had problems when I stand up for a few seconds my knees and lower legs turn purple and then a minute later my arms also turn purple, I'm guessing it's a circulation problem but I Don't know..I can literally feel the blood drain from top to bottom of my body 😔 has anyone also experience this? Any advice would be appreciated..
Thank you

Hi there,I have a similar history with a heart attack and stent fitted in 2015, then a triple bypass in 2019. I too have had different problems since the bypass. My knees often look bruised and l have developed a lot of surface veins, and l firstly assumed it was having had veins stripped from both legs and there was some sort of ‘re-routing’ going on!
Arms aren’t affected, though the skin pigment is very varied.
To be honest, l have more oedema in my legs than before the bypass, and thats on 2 diuretics. My legs ache to be honest.
Have no answer, but l am going to try and see my GP now appointments are more readily available. They didn’t really get the full picture during a telephone appointment. Yet l am also considering trying to contact my heart consultant instead.
Hope you get yours sorted soon. I will write if l get any information.w
It's really difficult trying to get answers thou isn't it? I've tried gp who doesn't know the answer and trying to speak to cardiac consultant is like trying to get blood out of a stone 🙃😅...never had any issues with oedema or circulation prior to bypass. Just don't understand why you develop these problems if they've fixed you? Or why they don't explain what's happening to you 🤔😕..last resort I've left message with cardiac nurse asking if someone could speak to me about these issues. Fingers crossed I'll hear soon. Good luck with your gp in getting answers. If I find anything out I'll let you know.
