Aortic Valve and Aneurysm Repair
Hello, I've had the same operation as you, but at Papworth, Try joining this facebook group, a lot of people on there have had aortic valves replaced & I think you might get some helpful answers .facebook.com/groups/1864350...
Dear RealWorldI was bppked in to Brompton, but it closed before I got there. My treatment was moved to the utterly fabulous Crompton. If you get a choice, go to Crompton. Dr Quarto did the op. and he is very pleasant and an amazing surgeon. My scar is so small. I give him eleven out of ten. I have the Inspiris resilia valve.
The choice of valve depends on all sorts of things. I was 72 years old, so an estimated life time for the valve of 20+ years is fine for me.
Good luck.
Colin
Hi to you Realworldresident - in answer to your question yes to the surgeon Cesare Quarto. Amazing man, very friendly and a skilled surgeon too and my scar is not huge either. And also yes I had that same valve as well. My operation although scheduled for The Brompton was at the last minute changed to Harefield Hospital (they are linked which am sure you know). Maybe you’ve had your operation by now? Let us know how you’re getting on if you have a minute. All best wishes
Sarah
