Hi all, hope someone can help with some adive, been on propranolol for 1 month and it's settled my ectopic beats down, my doctor recommended moving over to bisoprolol and I took my first tablet yesterday and since then its like my ectopic beats have come back! I did have an ablation last year which took a large amount of the ectopcs away, now I feel like I should have stayed on propranolol because I was feeling better. Could it just be the change over does anyone no?

Can a switch of medication cause ectopics?
Good morning
I was put on Bisoprolol, after being on Diltiazem for around a year.
Never felt so ill.
Just couldn’t tolerate them.
Lots of palpitations and very tight chest.
Felt like someone was sitting on my chest when I lay down.
I contacted my cardiologist, who told me to continue, to see how I felt.
Day 12 I had enough!
I contacted him again and he told me to stop taking them and go straight back on the Diltiazem .
Improved over night.
Some people can’t tolerate them, some can.
Trial and error I’m afraid.
We all react differently.
Maybe continue for a couple of weeks and see how you feel, if you can tolerate it.
I hope it all settles down soon for you.
Palpitations are just horrible.

Hi there,
I prefer Propanolol instead of Bisoprolol.
It helped me with my rapid heartbeat, not so much with my ectopic beats. I also noticed ectopic beats are happening when my heart rate is low ( below 60). Good wishes and good health! 🙏🏼
Hiya I have recently been put on bisoparsol as I had 24.900 eptopic heart beats It took some away in my first does
Then they asked me to up the dose and my goodness my heart beat on my telephone as I had set a health app was crazy
Then it settled down and we put my tablets up again
Again what a mess when I
Looked at the picture of my heart beats
I stayed with it and now after 5 months they are all in a straight line
Lots of people don’t stay the course with Bisoparsol but I’m good on mine now after perciverin
Good luck
