Medical heart valve Devices alert

Got a letter again from the Freeman Hospital who did my aortic valve transplant in 2016 stating that the MRHA regulatory agency has put out a Medical Devices alert relating to the valve they used in my heart and that I need more frequent check-ups, that's a joke because I've nerver had any at all. I'm so worried and depressed has anyone else had this letter. I'm 66 and also waiting for a hip replacement. Thanks.

Oh dear! Which valve did you have? And what is the issue?

The valve was my aortic and they replaced it with a bovine one Shar28. It's been fine so far but they are saying it could wear out quicker.

Hi, that doesn't sound but at least it sounds like they will monitor you. I'm interested in the valve you have as I had a mechanical one put in a couple of years ago. I also have no checks on it.Andy

It was a bovine one Andy I presume a cow. Maybe I should have gone for the mechanical. Like you say least they know we have a problem with our hearts not like that poor footballer.
