I had a mri on my heart in October, you lay on the bed of the machine and they sort of wedge you in so you don’t move. You will be injected with a dye .The bed then slides into the tunnel part of the scanner , I’m a big bloke and it was a tight fit . When the scanner starts it’s very noisy, I found it best to keep my eyes tightly shut the whole time as it is a bit claustrophobic . You can have music playing to help you relax. You will be asked to hold you breath at certain times. I would think the results are sent straight to your cardiologist electronically. I’ve now got to have one yearly to keep a check on my condition.

I believe it is the test to check for narrowing of the arteries. I could be wrong but I think that’s what it is.

I certainly had the dye injected but can’t say I had that actual test. The guy doing the scan said the cardiologist had asked for lots of different images / tests over and above normal. I was sent for mri while I was in a cardiac ward , I had av blockage and during a echo cardiogram they found I had non compaction ( my heart hadn’t formed properly in the womb ) so was sent for mri to get more information. I ended up with a dual pacemaker but was told I’ll need yearly mri’s.
