Had a heart attack 9.45am Wednesday. Called the ambulance. Paramedics did and ECG and took me 50 miles to Wolverhampton New Cross. Assessed and had an angiogram, angioplasty and stent straight away. On a ward having lunch by midday.
Home the following day feeling better than I have for ages with a rucksack full of new medication.
Full marks to the paramedics and New Cross. The cardiologist was excellent and chatted to me throughout the procedure and let me watch on the monitor.
There are some things the NHS does very well. (The paperwork that comes with all this isn’t one of them).
