Depends on whether you are a man or woman.Which reference lab is used and what type of troponin is measured.

Troponin is released into the blood stream for various reasons not just when the heart muscle is damaged. Eg infection, kidney disease, clot formation and extreme physical exertion.

I suggest you call the BHF helpline and talk to one of the Cardiac nurses they are very knowledgeable.

In response to your other post about microvascular blockages have the Cardiologists discussed Microvascular dysfunction and angina with you?

The small blood vessels are so small that they cannot be seen during an angiogram so I am not sure why you are being told your microvessels are ' blocked'.

The BHF has this information about Microvascular angina.

Hi, it depends on each individual so it varies. Your GP will be able tell you.

Hi,

As a man when I have had mine checked in Hospital, I have seen tge normal range listed on the blood tests as 0 -12 and I think the measurement is in mmol/l but I know they take each case separately. these are just what is written as normal acceptable levels on a standard blood test and does vary a little from country to country also, what NHS see as a norm is different to Spain and Portugal and France as an example.

I was told my results were o.k. (arrow left 10), but don't know anymore than that.

Normal Troponin level is 0- to 0-4. Following my heart attack mine was 10, 000 and very scary.
