Has anybody any experience of HRT after a heart attack? I had a cardiac arrest in June last year and have 5 stents but now have some serious symptoms of menopause which are really affecting my mental and physical health and ive read HRT can help but not sure if its suitable for me or even worth discussing with my GP...im 54

Sorry to hear you have been unwell and are now getting bashed by the menopause . I think the advice from the British Menopause Society is not after a heart attack . Cant see a GP taking the responsibility of saying yes to something like that . Only option would be discussing it with your cardiologist.

HRT and heart disease has been discussed on the forum before.

It is something you need to talk through with your Cardiologist and I suggest you ask your GP to refer you to a Menopause specialist.
Then hopefully you can make a shared and informed decision. Some woman decide their quality of life over rides the increased risks that maybe associated with taking HRT. Others decide not to take HRT.
I hope you find some good support and advice to make a decision that is best for you as an individual.
