Smart decision.

Life is so beautiful, it would be foolish to throw any of it away with poor choices about diet, exercise, weight, smoking, etc. The hard fact is that many of us on this forum have been guilty of some pretty bad lifestyle decisions in the past, but the miracle of modern medicine has given us one last chance to put things right.

In the pre Covid era most of us attended a six or eight session course called "Cardio Rehab". It was a marvellous institution that gave us the life style information necessary, covering exercise, diet, and all the other areas we need. I believe this excellent course has now migrated on-line and is run by the BHF. That would be a great place to begin your quest.

Good luck!

Without knowing details of your condition, it's hard to give advice. Your cardiologist/rehab team are the best people to help. The obvious ones are improving your diet - plenty of ideas on this website - and regular exercise. The best guide I was given is warm up first, then do enough to make yourself slightly out of breath, but still able to have a conversation.
