It's seven months since my quadruple bypass and appear to be recovering well. Almost daily long walks. I've been a fitness obsessive all my life so missing it really. I'm nervous about starting to do anything other than walk.
I'm just 67, ( last week)

Get yourself some bands (coloured bands with handles) and try them for upper body work, they are light and shouldn't put to much strain on you, you can find exercises for them on YouTube.
Ask the medical professionals - they want you to exercise, but will help set bounds. I've found it really hard to reset my targets - but once I accepted my limitations it started to be fun again.
You can use the bands for cardio by doing high reps with low resistance.. He asked about exercise for the upper body, the bands would make a good start.
I think after a quadruple bypass they are better off starting very light and working up.. Walking can be included with the bands, eventually light weights and cardio..
But it is their choice.
Thanks for replying.
These are only ideas, only the person doing it will know the best exercises for themselves.
They can try them out and then go for what feels best..
South Yorkshire. I completed the 8 week course in October. Itching to get going again. Doing lots and lots of walking, usually in the Pennines which are close by but on the doorstep as well. That's going very very well. It's my upper body !
Yes I really was a junkie for exercise. Good description. That's why I was gobsmacked to find out how ill I really was. I even thought I'd overdone and caused myself the problem but have been reassured that this in fact would have been a protective factor.
