Life after covid!

Is it just me?! I tested positive for Coronovirus on the 2nd of Jan 21, other than a cold and a slight loss of smell for a week or so, I was fine and still apppear to be so. I feel continually anxious now and have noticed a change in my heart rate. ( I wear a Fitbit) Do I need to be concerned?

Thank you to all who take the time to reply, it is reassuring 😊

Is it your resting rate, exercising rate or both? And what sort of change?

MichaelJH, it is both. Resting , up from 67 to avg 72. Light exercise , ( just general movement around the house) and it is up to 103, comes down quite rapidly to around 80. My blood pressure is normal and so too O2 levels. Thank you😊

Fitbit's can be less than 80% accurate, as can most wrist devices. If you feel fine, just crack on, you are one of the lucky majority with Covid.

Thank you TRST. I have been " signed off" by my cardiologist and continue to feel physically well. This anxiety started after the covid diagnosis . My GP Surgery is quite thorough and I now have a call with the practise nurse after the weekend....will post again after😊

Diagnostics for what exactly?? The cardiologist has discharged. Do you not think the NHS is under enough strain already?

Actually my consult with the nurse is my routine check for diabetes. I am quite aware of the strain on the NHS. By the way, I am 61, never been overweight. Don't drink or smoke and until my heart attack , trained with weights. Just lucked out on the gene lottery.

I am not criticising you, I was questioning TRST's reason for further tests. If you are able can you not go back to weight training, or other form of exercise? I am sure the benefits would help you to stop feeling anxious about things, especially as you say you are feeling fine physically.

Lateguitarist, I am usually a pretty buoyant person. Considering I am quite fit and keep my sugar levels in control, I felt let down by my own body when I had my HA. I don't trust it anymore...

Well, unfortunately it is what it is. We have all experienced these feeling of shock and "why me", but unfortunately due to the high incidence of heart disease the answer is "why not me?". You sound as if you are maybe one of the luckier ones who are in decent physical condition? The way out of this is to focus on making the most of your second chance at life and trying to ensure you have no further problems. This may of course not be completely possible but you cannot let it stop you from trying, especially if you have been used to exercise previously? Just take small steps and things will improve gradually with exercise and possibly diet changes?
