Extensive research, I want to report that the best treatment for heart related pain is to take two warm Bassets with your afternoon nap.

That's so true. I cuddle up with this schnauzer cutie.

Max the schnauzer in the garden.

Hi HectorsDad,

I totally agree, sadly our little brussels griffon passed 2 weeks before me stroke and heart attack shortly after, she would stick to me like glue if she new i was'nt well.Dixie was the same with my wife. i hope once all this madness with covid is at a safer level we will venture to find 1 maybe 2 dogs.

Steve.

Dixie loved her hot water bottle and a snuggle :)

You guys are confirming my suspicions that we may need to add a fury friend to our family. My husband has had various heart issues over the past four year and would love a dog, I keep thinking it would help him have something to focus on. I think you guys may have helped confirm the need!

Definitely. Hector (on the left) has a better grip on my tiredness and pain levels than I do, he frequently intervenes if he thinks I should stop what I’m doing, and sticks by me whenever he can.

Bassets are best, IMHO: obsessively loyal, entertaining and don’t need much exercise. However, puppies are hard work so a rescue is a good choice.

Thank you so much. Dogs really do look after you don't they? I have been looking at puppies (we have two teen children who promise to help) but they are so expensive at the moment due to lockdown I think. Also when looking at rehoming it doesn't seem an easy route. I will definitely keep looking into this though so thank you.

Don't be tempted to pay the exorbitant prices. Responsible breeders are still charging what hey always have. It's the Greeders , breeding purely for money who do the damage; don't do health tests, breed the poor dogs time after time and a lot of them are pure scams or stolen dogs. Get your name down with a proper Kennel Club accredited breeder and be prepared to wait. NO one responsible has puppies to order or jump through the hoops of a rescue place. They are only making sure they get someone suitable for the dog. It took me two years t o get my present one.

This is my little rescue dog, before her much needed haircut.

Anyone know why I can’t see the pictures in replies?

Does your browser block 'pop-up' activities? Might be something else with your browser settings.

If you're not seeing these gorgeous pups people are posting to demonstrate their chronic pain management therapy dogs, you are truly missing an absolute treat!

Looking at them in a browser now, just not working in the iOS app.

Yes, teen-agers are expensive and it is really impossible to get them rehomed. However I am quite sure they will agree to help until they have to pick up the poo...

Ahem, not all chronic pain management therapy furbabies are dogs - may I introduce Roo, our Si-Aby cross photographed at the KatSpa (aka the cattery while we were on holiday before the lockdown)? He is 13 in the photo, now 15.

Si-Aby luxuriating on a cat bench in the cattery while his people are away.

There is a Basset Hound UK Facebook group if you are interested. Somewhere between extreme cuteness and an addicts support group!🤪
