As Alan Bennett wrote "Keeping On, Keeping On". I have finally restarted amputee physio after a seven week break! Allegedly the referral was not done correctly when I was dumped in a DTA (direct to assess) bed. I had hoped to be in my "own" home by now. Personally I would rather have an M&S ready meal alone although as a dog or cat are not feasible at the moment maybe a white rat for company!

Excellent news. The app is telling me late Feb / early March for mine.... but I'm not holding my breath, what with all the other chaos going on.

Well a friend posted a link on Facebook and it has now been deleted, so I can only assume that it has been taken down. Presumably the reason is that it may give false hope to people and the projected time scale may not bedit realised. I have not found it through Google either.

Had mine Wed 16th, and apart from sore arm for one day, no reaction I’m pleased to say, apart from being really happy to have got it. One plus I suppose from being in the clinically extremely vulnerable group. My daughter took me, to a large sports hall of a school, said it looked liked an old people’s convention! Was in a way! Good !!

They have said I have to wait as taking anti coagulants riveroxaban???

β€’ in reply toEmmyLaury12

I work for a GP Practice (that's why I got it extra early, any excess vaccines are being offered to local NHS staff). The guidelines we were given re anti coag's & allergies changed twice on Thursday, like anything new, it has to be reactive, as with the allergies following a couple of NHS workers having a bad reaction.

Care to share this new information because the BHF update on Friday 18th says the only slight risk is bruising which is the same as before.

β€’ in reply tobantam12

I don't know exactly what the changes where, but this is probably relevant as far as anti coag's are concerned.-

That was published beginning of Dec and says as we already know being on anticoagulants is not a contraindication.

β€’ in reply tobantam12

No, the original doc was 9th Dec, this was 17th Dec

β€’ in reply to

I'm not sure, but reading that it would explain the confusion as to whether or not it is safe.

The article I linked to is dated 17th Dec, it reads that it will clarify the situation!

Hi Gaz , can I ask , when you say the guidelines changed twice re allergies, what do you mean ? Amongst other things I have eczema and some allergies, hay fever , penicillin, some foods etc , do you think I would be able to have it ?

β€’ in reply toSevenstar

As it is early days, there is inevitably going to be adjustments to the criteria. The changes I believe where once regarding allergies and once regarding anti coag's.

I think the anti coag change is as per above, basically I think it was a misinterpretation of the guidelines that was passed down the line.

The allergy change i think was due to the 2 cases of NHS workers who had a reaction, both of whom had allergies, not sure what but was in the press..

Not sure of the latest, but i think Food or medicine allergies or previous reaction to any vaccine and anyone with an epipen are referred to there GP for guidance.

So probably best to preempt with a call to your GP.

β€’ in reply to

Oh, I have eczema and wasn't asked.

β€’ in reply toSevenstar

Yes it's a shame it isn't in time for Xmas, Isolation for another few weeks doesn't seem so bad, knowing i'll get the 2nd jab on 8th Jan, so it will be 15th Jan before i'm actually covered, hopefully!

Love your post made me chuckle πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

That's all well and good, but if the information being given to those actually administering the vaccine is not in agreement, then it won't and hasn't happened.

Hopefully this incorrect information has been corrected and the vaccine will be given.

I feel it is important to take the advice of a registered healthcare professional who is responsible for my care and knows all my relevant medical history.

I am simply stating facts.
