Having had successful ablation treatment, I ocasionally have ectopic heartbeats. Every two or three weeks I tend to have a day or two when the ectopics are worse and it makes me very tired. For the past month or so, the ectopics have been much more prevalent and regular - most days rather than ocasionally - which I had put down to having a mild chest cold but it is not stopping. I dont sleep well as they tend to happen in the evening and when I lay down and it can make me slighly breathless. I dont know if I should be worried about this and if I should go back on fleccanide to help control it. Is there higher risk from more ectopics or is it not a problem as I have had ablation and my ECG results are completely fine?

Not unusual after ablation. I've had ectopics ever since my 2002 PVI, and they have come and gone. I'm currently fairly free of them which coincided with me taking 2 x 200 mg Mg Citrate per day, whether cause and effect I have no idea, but a. it suits me and b. others report similar. You say you get them worse at night, same here. Try attending to your digestive status, noticing whether you get them after meals, after particular foods, when you have indigestion/wind, etc. I am on Omeprazole which helps stop me burping and wind, which then helps stop the ectos. The common thread here is the vagus nerve which feeds both the heart amd the gut, and can cause interplay, plus at night the vagus slows your heart rate down and tends to create more ectos too.
