hi victoria. i get this when it’s really cold. try putting a scarf or snood over your mouth when it’s cold. that seems to help. i don’t know about it lasting an hour though. i’m sure someone will be along shortly with more input. just take it easy and of course if it doesn’t settle or gets worse don’t hesitate to get help❤️shiona

if it’s bothering you why not give 111a try. they could maybe put your mind at rest

I experience chest at rest after exercise.

I live with a less common type of angina due to temporary narrowing of my coronary arteries due to spasms. The cold is one of my triggers too.

I suggest you keep a diary of your symptoms and activities to see if you can find a pattern then discuss this with your Cardiologist.

Hi Victoria, your post caught my eye - because it reminded of my angina (which I haven't had for nearly 14 years because I had a CABG - heart bypass). From your other posts, it seems that that you've only recently been diagnosed with angina and have a GTN spray. The only question I have is: did the GTN send the pain away? If it did, my guess is: it's an angina attack. But as with any chest pain - unless you really know what it is - have it checked out ... and I'd agree with Shoshov: give 111 a call. They are really good. 14 years ago they got me on to a great care pathway (by calling an ambulance) that got me great treatment without having a heart attack. If you are getting (undiagnosed) chest pains without any exercise at all, then don't be afraid to call 999 (or 111, as I did). It's better to be safe than sorry, :-)

Take care, and stay safe .

Cheers,

Victoria, I am saying this not to sound alarmist or to scare you, but you should get this checked out. The BHF Nurses, your local Community Cardiac Rehab Nurses, 111 or 999 will give the best advice.

I got it when I got angina.Don't mess with chest pains..call for emergency help. Get a cardiogram and make sure your ok..don't take a chance. The paramedics will be glad you contacted them, it's what they are there for. Last thing you want is something serious to happen when your out, alone....and don't think you can always use your phone in an emergency.....do it. No doubt you will be fine, but get it checked.

You need to get a stress test with an echocardiogram ASAP. You could have blocked arteries!

Hi. Im new to all this but on reading many posts I’m realising how much we worry about wasting doctors time. It’s very sad that chest pain isn’t enough for us to call for help even when we may be frightened or in a lot of pain, just because it settles down a bit.

Just because we don’t think we’re having a heart attack it doesn’t mean nothings wrong and that we don’t deserve help.

Sending good wishes to everyone. Xx
