I have been diagnosed with Lown- Gangong- Levine Syndrome. Does anyone have any information on this? I am not due to see Cardiology for another few weeks and have not been explained what this is and how to manage scary episodes.

Is this something to worry about?
Came up with this online. Lown–Ganong–Levine syndrome (LGL) is a pre-excitation syndrome of the heart. Those with LGL syndrome have episodes of abnormal heart racing with a short PR interval and normal QRS complexes seen on their electrocardiogram when in a normal sinus rhythm.
Hopefully you will get to talk to someone soon. Why not ring the BHF nurses?
I was diagnosed with LGL about 25 years ago. The basis for diagnosis is having a short PR interval as the other poster says. However after a scary episode about 10 years ago I had an EPS done at Harefield and the consultant there (who thought I might have Wolf Parkinson White) said that they don’t even diagnose patients as having LGL any more because it’s quite benign. It remains the only diagnosis I’ve ever had and I do get scary palpitations/ectopic beats from time to time, for example over the last two weeks. But before that I hardly felt a thing for about nine years! It’s hard to manage scary episodes because we inevitably panic and that makes things worse! But I have been assured before that there’s nothing to worry about so the best thing to do is to hang on to that fact and remember it’s a benign condition. One consultant I spoke to showed me how to massage the side of my neck when I feel palpitations and that has helped sometimes.
