Did anyone else have a dread of am I doing the right thing?, pre op chat with a lovely nurse, said they may not close the hole, they will check pressure in the pulmonary arteries , if it’s high I will need the hole to relieve pressure in the lungs as have a rare lung condition, but then what happens to the their words grossly dilated right side heart and leaking valve, also the hole is in an award place, so might have to go home then come back for ohs, trying not to worry about something that hasn’t happened yet, have got the decs up, a bit of twinkle always good🙂, and actually writing it down has helped, so sorry I have given it to you, when you all have your own battles, it’s just constantly in my head. Well! on the count down now for hole in the heart closure, but complicated, the butterflies have moved in 🙂
Hi Magicfairy I think we all have “What on earth am I doing”😩 but of course we are doing the right thing. You will be ok and the decision that we and our medical team make are the correct ones for us. You post as much as you need to that’s the point of the forum we are here to listen and help if we can. Try and do one step at a time I know easier said than done .
Let us know how you go Pauline
Thank you Pauline😊, it’s good to talk to someone who understands, it’s when you have always been in control of your life then suddenly thats gone, and you’re in someone else’s hands, I’m keeping as busy as possible, also reading on here, loving the funny posts 🙂, take care xxx
I remember being told about my heart problems, and it was such a shock, couldn’t understand how my body was letting me down it had never had before. You then have to let go and let the professionals work out what is best for you, I was in hospital for 7 weeks before my surgery and I don’t think I made a proper decision in those 7 weeks 😉 apart from what I was having for my lunch and dinner 😂 keeping busy is a great idea.I am in Scotland and we had a real frost for the first time this morning so my walking was put on hold. But will see what tomorrow looks like. Pauline
Oh magicfairy 🤗
I cannot stand to think of you all worried and stressed and being in your situation.
I haven’t got the same as you but all I can do is imagine how you’re feeling.
I do understand that your health is in your hands to the point of diet exercise etc but completely out of your hands for these conditions and surgeries.
The Surgeon’s and all theatre team are very highly skilled and keep the closest eye on you to keep you safe.
Lots of decisions to be made some frightening, upsetting, confusing.
But we’re all here for you, sorry you cannot get rid of us that easily, any time of day or night let us know what’s happening or if you do that awful wake up in the early hours and have a bit of a panic when everyone’s asleep, post something, someone will be awake, I don’t sleep well at all so bad luck if I answer, probably tucking into walnut whips or peeling curly wurly’s off my forehead, who knows anything can happen here 🤭🤭
You’ve got so much support on here, and lots of ‘virtual’ special friends who are with you on this, keep us informed and biggest hugs 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Val, you are doing the right things. A problem shared is a problem halved. I know myself that writing it on here and posting it seems to help so much. You also know that although we are all going through a different heart issue, problem, challenge, failure, recovery etc. we are all just people still and we all have feelings and this wonderful group of individuals on this forum are a big part of your support team and always will be. We dont always know the right thing to say or do but we will have a good go at trying to help you through this next stage in your Journey.
Sending you much hope, love and strength
Jim♥️
