What are people using? My mother now has AF, but lives alone, so I'm looking at what I could get her to help. Is an Apple Watch the best option?

Hi, since no-one has answered I will chip in. The answer is it depends, is she capable of understanding what the readings mean? and what do you expect to happen if there is a problem??

Personally I would suggest an upper-arm cuff style BP/Pulse monitor to check once a day and possibly telecare equipment in case she needs urgent help or assistance? AF will never give a true pulse reading anyway - you need an ecg for that...

I would steer away from watches and other gizmos, they are fun to have, but you need something that is accurate when you have a heart problem. HTH
