Diagnosed via a process of elimination during the summer. Currently having a lot of waves of pressure in the centre of my chest for past 3 days. Can't walk further than 10 steps before the tightness around the chest and back hits. Normally have waves of discomfort every day but this is a bit different. Have any of you guys had a bad week with symptoms like this? Still trying to find meds to help alleviate the angina but no luck. The latest addition to the growing number of meds is ranolazine which isn't having any effect after 2 months 🙄. Got 2 young kids one with special needs so life is not exactly stress free...

Hi Divasong!

I have vasospastic angina so can only go by what I experience with that.

I would speak to your GP ASAP or cardiologist if you can if you are struggling as much as that. Especially as you have to care for your kids on top of what's going on they should at least be able to fit you in speaking to your GP. But please don't ignore it or put up with it.

Milkfairy will be best placed to help you as a fellow sufferer of both conditions you have - sure you'll be given lots of useful info from them.

I have daily chest pain/tightening some days much worse than others particularly now the temperature has changed and is much chillier 😒

I'm fortunate as I live in a bungalow - think stairs would be a step too far for me!! I struggle with doing household chores like laundry and washing up even making an evening meal (that takes sooo long!). It comes on in the night too usually anytime from 3am.

Please seek help as what you are experiencing needs attention xx

Let me know how you get on ❤

Hi Divasong,

Sorry to hear you're suffering at the moment. I have MVA and have been struggling a bit recently as well....you will find that the cold weather will affect you. Make sure you wear gloves, hat and scarf and keep warm. A hot water bottle on the chest should help as well....I use a "Warmie", a soft toy that you put in the microwave to heat up, works better than any drug for me!

It will take a while to find the right drugs for you, bit I would say that if you can only walk a very short distance at the moment you need to be pestering your consultant to review the drugs. Ranolazine didn't work for me either.

Good luck!

Hello

I have MVA also diagnosed from symptoms and am in the process of trying different medications

I’ve been worse recently too but you do sound quite bad so speak to your GP as soon as possible

I’ve been on ranolazine for nearly a year and during this time I’ve had better days and no pain or breathlessness for up to a month during the summer but unfortunately my symptoms have returned and worsened recently.

I hope your GP can help there are other meds to try
