After Stent
Could it be the anxiety keeping you awake.
If you can do some relaxation sessions then things will start to ease. I use a relaxation casette (Yes i am ancient) plus a tinnitus relaxer. Anything to stop the fretting. And maybe have a light on. I changed mattress. I had five pillows reducing them over the weeks.
I had to work hard at getting proper sleep. But once i started getting my 7.5 hrs then everything improved.
Our brains are not happy with heart surgery.
But the quick answer is yes, sleep is difficult.

Hi Red,
I had 2 stents fitted urgently 2 months ago due to Unstable Angina/Troponin negative nstemi.
I too have found getting to sleep and staying asleep at night hard. My anxiety of what happened and the diagnosis takes over and I worry. However, since commencing Cardiac Rehab classes a month ago I have found the anxiety less, and I am slowly feeling more confident in my body.
My rehab guy assured me that anxiety after a cardiac diagnosis is completely normal and does take time to settle.
Hope you slowly start to be able to relax.
It is very normal to experience anxiety and sleep deprivation following a stent .
I can honestly say it took me two months to feel a bit less anxious post HA.
I had my HA in April and can say now I feel well
Again and leading a normal life
But it has taken me time to get where I am now .
Little steps - I found listening to sleep medication from
You tube helpful and especially the breathing exercises. I think it’s early days for you but you will get there and start to feel a bit better and less anxious soon .
I and other hearties on this forum are here for you if you need us x
Take care x
Many thanks for being there .
Hi I had two stents in my left artery six weeks ago, and I am very worried and now have problems sleeping. Will be trying a relaxation app at bed time to see if that helps.
I have been told that it should improve with time and some gentle exercise helps
