Hello everyone who has had a bypass. It will be a few weeks when it will be my one year anniversary for my op. What happens now? Do I go for a check up - or a phone chat .Would like to hear from someone who experienced an op at a similar time before the onset of the “Virus”

Hi,

Had a bypass and valve replaced 4 years ago, my schedule was check up post op with the surgeon at 6 weeks he discharged me back to cardiologist check up at 6 months with him he discharged me back to GP. Over the past 4 years haven’t seen anyone only GP. I have an echocardiogram yearly ( not this year so far) this is to check my Aortic valve pressure, and it’s been good so far so that’s it. My bypass isn’t checked. GP just does medication review and blood tests.

Hope that helps,

Best wishes Pauline

Check your discharge letter. It should tell you about medication review after 12 months. Going by others like myself on this forum it is different depending the area you live. In my case my GP reviewed all (two weeks ago). Would be worth calling GP
