Join me in registering to raise awareness of vascular conditions such as PAD for Vascular Awareness Month. We are walking the arterial tree which is 60,000 miles as a community effort. Funds raised will go to improve patient support and research.

You set your own target in miles and fundraising and by spreading the word amongst family and friends and colleagues you can educate others about they can do to prevent disease such as PAD and what to look out for.

And there’s a medal at the end of it

You can set your own circulationfoundation.org.u...

Having had a BKA (below knee amputation) as a result of complications due to PAD I fully support this cause. PAD is under recognised and under treated in the UK, and the level of ignorance amongst medical staff, including GPs, staggers me at times!!! The amputation rate in the UK for PAD related issues is higher than both the US and Western Europe!!!

Currently I doubt I could manage 0.5 mile with the temporary leg but could probably knock off 30 on the exercise bike! 💪🚲

We take all miles run, cycle, walk, skip, swim. There’s no need to raise money- the miles would be great!!

Today I had a small curved ball and when they went to redress the wound they found that left edge was infected! I am now in intravenous antibiotics. The doctor approved limited physio and the exercise bike. I managed 4.5km in 12 minutes. What surprised them was they monitored my pulse and I max'd at 69bpm even though I was perspiring. More tomorrow...
