How long till I feel results with metoprolol?

I was placed on Metoprolol today, and was wondering if anyone can answer some questions about how long it will take for it to work?

Hi I was on it while in hospital after my heart attack as well as other meds and the drs there told me it works with in 24-48 hours.

Thank you so much for your reply. I hope you’re feeling better and on the road to recovery. My main question or concern is will I be able to work out while I’m on this medication? I usually work out 4 to 5 times a week. Prior to this diagnosis and treatment my heart rate will go from around 60 to 190 to 200 or higher for periods of time. They put me on the medication and it seems to be working, but I still am concerned about stressful activities?

I’m doing well thanks just been over 2 years now. When I had a cardiac mri they did a stress test while I was taking it and it come back fine. I also did a tone and resist class once a week and just kept an eye on my heart rate as it goes up to 160 plus depending on what we are doing. Are u under a cardiologist or gp? If your worried you could always get there opinion.
