Hi I have recently had 2 stents fitted in RCA my heart went into AF during and had to be shocked . I have received my report from the procedure to find out I have 90% blockage distal LAD which is too far downstream for any treatment at present. I had no idea of this problem and to be honest very anxious as too what happens next. I have tried to contact my consultant to get some information but as yet i`ve heard nothing back. Does this mean I will get treatment at some point? how will it impact my life? I am 63 and deal with facts better than not knowing.

90% Blockage LAD
I appreciate that a 90% blockage sounds extremely severe. But in reality there are plenty of people on this forum who are in the 90-95% blockage range and don't even experience any angina symptoms!
I guess what I'm saying is try not to become over anxious, easy to say I know, but percentage blockage figures are subject to so much interpretation that it's just not worth the emotional turmoil.
If you're hungry for information the BHF publish lots of really useful booklets, or you could call the BHF and speak with one of their experienced and helpful cardiac nurses.
Good luck!
Hi Moosechops
I know how frustrating it is to get a report like that containing no answers to the obvious questions it raises. Maybe worth contacting your consultant’s secretary and emailing your questions to get the ball rolling.
Was the reason for leaving the LAD blockage because it was decided to manage it medically or because they weren’t able to stent it on this occasion. If the latter, then may be that’s the plan. But, as you say, you need to know!
An angiogram is the best diagnostic tool so if the LAD blockage was urgent, they wouldn’t have sent you home without dealing with it - by stent or bypass. So hopefully, that is some reassurance.
Like you, I’d rather know than be left to my own, invariably destructive, speculation.
I hope you get answers soon.
