Head all over the place

Hi everyone, well I had my follow up echo done and was told I would be able to get the results at my phone appointment with the cardio nurse. ( covid means phone only appointment) My nurse called me on the date and time given and I honestly felt like a naughty schoolchild for even asking about the results. She was more concerned about whether I was managing to get the prescribed 30 minutes per day exercise and to not use the spray beforehand.

I mentioned shoulder blade burning, feelings like palpitations but no chest pain and was told it was probably just muscle pain and anxiety. Probably right but without being checked I wouldn't know.

Sorry I'm rambling again, so I pushed to get the results of the echo and was told they would need to contact consultant to get permission. Meanwhile I had been told to speak with my GP to arrange a change in medication.

So whilst waiting for my cardiac rehab nurse to come back to me, my GP called. They were confused as to why they needed to speak to me about the change in medication as they hadn't been advised of it by my consultant. Being desperate for some kind of answer by now,I asked my GP if they had the results.

My fab GP advised that first echo showed regurgitation of mitral valve, left diastolic dysfunction and severely dilated left ventricle. Second echo showed only mildly dilated left ventricle.

I then received a call from my cardiac nurse saying my consultant was very pleased with the significant improvement in my second scan.

Received a call from cardio physio who told me to ignore the other nurse about taking spray, was concerned about burning sensation behind shoulder blade, particularly at night, and advised me to contact GP again.

This week my cardiac nurse called to "see if I was feeling better" as I had come across as anxious! Really?

She still had no concern with the jump on heart rate at night, the shoulder blade burning and basically told me to ignore my bp monitor and fitbit.

Appointment for next month with consultant and been told i need to go get bloods, pulse and bp done at GPS "to put my mind at rest"

I'm so sorry for the long post but I'm kind of feeling sorry for myself at the moment.

You sound to have the same sort of cardiac nurse I had. I strongly suggest you ask to be changed to a different one. ( I assume this is cardiac rehab?) The one I had gave no advice at all, kept telling me not to be so anxious and change my diet ( Already had) and refused rehab as I'm in a wheelchair but never offered any alternative. Having spoken a year later to a different one I realised just how different it could all have been.
