Minor stroke May 2019

Hello, I’ve been a reader of these forums for some time so time for my little story. Had a very small stroke in May 2019. Pins and needles behind right eye. Nothing else. GP immediately sent me for ECG’s and MRI. ECG ruled out AF and MRI revealed damaged brain area. On my part I have been lucky to escape with just slight numbness in left hand thumb, fore and middle finger. Cholesterol at 5, so Atorvastatin, Amlopidine, Clopidogrel as a defence against a repeat. Fast forward to March this year and noticed a little light-headedness with seemed to recede as the day went on. I also noticed that overall BP had dropped and was well within range (From ~140 to 125/130). In that basis and in conjunction with GP at the beginning of June I stopped Amlopidene on the promise that I monitored BP regularly. I also sorted diet out and cholesterol is now around 2.9 so we halved the dose of Statin to 20mg. I was convinced the meds were causing the lightheadedness. Around the second week in July, I was awoken on two consecutive mornings by my heartbeat pounding away. Not fast just seemingly really strong. Terrifying. I was expecting it to speed up and explode. Since then I have had more dizzyness, ‘tingling’ in the left hand side of head and on at least three occasions on awakening all sorts of buzzing/swirling and dizzyness. Again it recedes during the day but I have an overall feeling similar to a hangover but without any sickness. I have been to A&E twice and am assured by the cardio that I do not have a heart problem. Nevertheless he has ordered a Myocardial perfusion scan to re-assure me further. However that doesn’t resolve the ‘head’ issues and my GP has arranged an MRI scan tomorrow. What’s worrying is that every time I have one of these ‘head’ incidents, irreparable damage may be being done so the MRI can’t come too soon. By the way, I’m almost 69, non-smoker. I looked for a forum when I had my original stroke but couldn’t find any so was very pleased to discover Healthunlocked and read so many experiences of others.
