Natural remedies AF?
There are dietary/lifestyle things you can do that may help reduce the frequency of episodes, but to the best of my knowledge there are no natural remedies to treat arrhythmias. Cardiologists would be out of a job if there were. Some people find medication works well, and there are different types you can take so sometimes it’s trial and error to find the right one, it’s not a one option works for everyone job. If medication just doesn’t control it adequately then ablation is an option, and some people find they have excellent results with that. You mentioned cardioversion in your other post, but my understanding is this is an immediate treatment to sort an ongoing episode - the same as it is with other arrhythmias - rather than a procedure to stop it longer term.
In terms of lifestyle, some people find that cutting out some or all of the following reduce/prevent episodes of SVT (the arrhythmia I have) and AF by reducing ectopics beats, which are a common trigger for going into AF and SVT.
Caffeine (going completely decaf, including tea)
Alcohol
Dark chocolate
White chocolate
Ginger
Medications containing pseudoephedrine (usually found in cold and cough remedies)
Cigarettes
In addition, insufficient sleep and stress are both known to increase the odds of an arrhythmic episode in those that have them. These are things you can do to try and help yourself, but the reality is that some people find it doesn’t actually help that much, in which case the main thing is to maximise medical treatment either via medication and/or an ablation.
Just read your earlier post to this one. I use Bach's Rescue Remedy. It's based on flower essences. It is NOT in any shape or form a medicine and will do nothing to cure your AF. What I find it does do is to calm my reaction to stressful situations, (discovered it years ago when learning to drive) and so reduce the likelihood of an Af episode. I still use it today, in these Covid times, usually just before I go to the supermarket for the weekly shop. As far as I can tell it does not react with any of my prescribed meds and I'm on 4 different ones. I don't know if it is available in France or not but it may be worth a try.
