Propranolol withdrawals

I was put on propranolol 10mg 3x a day on the 19th due to high blood pressure, I hate the way it makes me feel I’m dizzy all day, I get bad headaches, I can’t sleep, I feel like something is moving in my brain ughh I tried to take one a day instead of 3 so that I could get myself off of them by the end of the night my heart rate was really high and so was my blood pressure had to end up calling the ambulance I hate that I was ever given this medicine it’s just causing more problem I want off this so bad I’ll never take another once I’m off I want to try the natural way this has only given me more problems

Hello and welcome to the forum! The term "high blood pressure" means little in isolation. Both 150/90 and 220/110 count as "high blood pressure". With the former I would advise you to talk to your GP and with the latter to dial 999!

Ongoing "high blood pressure" can cause issues such as heart disease, stroke and kidney failure.

Stopping or reducing the dose of BP medication suddenly can cause a "rebound". Beta blockers, like Propranol, have two actions reducing both BP and HR. You need to talk to your GP. There are other beta blockers and other medications such as ACE Inhibitors, ARBs, CCIs (calcium channel inhibitors) and diuretics. Often it is a case of working with your GP.

Doing it naturally is not always possible as some people have naturally high blood pressure, in the same way some have high cholesterol. If someone is 30 stone, smokes, and lives on a diet of McDs and takeaways they may achieve significant changes but may need medication to protect them during the process. Another person who is slim and reasonably fit may not get there even if they drop to the bottom of the BMI range, become a gym bunny and eat a vegan diet. We are all different!
