It's a potentially horrible disease. I watched a documentary at some point, it's called 'why are we fat'. The presenter is a chef fron NZ with type 2 diabetes.

At first glance he looks just a bit overweight but when drs look into his body with special machines they tell him he is actually obese with a lot of the fat being around his organs. His liver was super fatty. He never exercised.

They also looked at his genes, he was a bit unfortunate in the sense that due to genetics he very easily gained weight with carby and fatty foods and he also needed to exercise more than most people.

The documentary also showed people with diabetes complications which were really sad to watch. These people pretty much said to take the disease seriously before if gets to the point of no return and to eat healthily.

On the positive side the presenter went into diet and ecercise and in 3 months his body and stamina had improved greatly. It seems if you catch it early and take action it may be reversed.

What’s “unbelievable” about it?

I have Type 2 diabetes and am very well aware of the consequences of taking it lightly.

I find it hard to believe the numbers, 28% are obese! I also find it amusing that the person presenting the video looks to me, to be obese!
