I was having blackouts for 6 months then I was fitted with heart reveal implant which reveal within 2 weeks I was suffering with heart block had emergency op for pacemaker had all checks carried out but still suffering near blackouts 12 months later which are not pleasant to say the least 999 call every time ECG done all normal now told it is seizures have good day and bad days but feeling very anxious about going out still trying to hold onto my job etc just wondered if anyone else had same experiences
I would experience an “aura” and sometimes black out prior to being diagnosed with sinus node bradycardia. I was fitted with a PM in September, 2018. For months afterwards, I would experience the same aura (a sort of nausea), without blacking out. I would sit down and let it pass.
The medical team had investigated whether my blackouts were explained by my heart or by seizures. Although bradycardia was diagnosed, my EEG was “suspicious”. Ultimately, in May, 2019, neurology discharged me without any action, but it was a time of much distress; I had hoped that I had put my health problems to bed.
I rarely, if ever, experience an aura/nausea today 🙂
I have been having strange feeling like rising from my stomach which travels up my body. I know what’s going on around me but unable to do anything about it like an outer body experience I know that sounds strange!
when they happen it leave me feeling confused for a while and exhausted for a few days. I have one or two every month.
It doesn’t sound strange at all. It took me months, probably longer, to even describe what I was experiencing. When the feeling went away, I would feel a rush (of blood, presumably) down my left arm, suggesting to me that my heart was pumping again. I would be exhausted, but for minutes or hours, not days.
I can only share with you that my symptoms have virtually gone away over time. If you’re having less and less incidents then I hope that you’ll be encouraged by my experience. Otherwise, I agree, phone for advice, and certainly highlight at your next check-up.
Thanks for support it makes feel better knowing someone understands I have at least 16 of these episodes since pacemaker last April neurologist is very sure it’s seizures and I started drugs last week!
