I have been having slight chest pain with lightheadedness, breathless, pain was only 1 minute dizzy and nausia last longer, always at rest. went to a&e and as expected no sign of heart attack, but they did think it could be onset of angina. Doc referred me to rapid access chest pain clinic who cancelled on me & did it via phone instead, they said did not think it was angina and def not unstable as i would be to ill to be at home and need hospitalising. So they discharged me and thats it. Docs wont do anything either now. I also have intermittent high blood pressure but because 1 daily average is only 131/87 they wouldnt do anything about that either until I insisted with an argument other averages were 149/92 135/90 anyway now booked me for 24hr bpm but still nothing about chest pains, nausea, dizzyness, and being breathless. I have a lot of family history of heart disease. my total cholesterol was 8.9 good was 0.7 and tryglicerides were 9.6 no idea how long for but now down to 6.4 & 6.9. Any advice please?

Sorry I cannot understand your cholestoerol figures but they seem very high. Are you in the UK? Are you on medication for these?

Your blood pressure isn't too high and perhaps lowering cholesterol would help with that. The 24 bpm will maybe give them a better picture though personally I hated that test. Good luck

Hi, I had a similar experience although the pain lasted longer than a minute. I saw my GP the next day and went to the hospital straight away for an ecg , which was fine. My cholesterol wasn't coming down sufficiently on 40mg atorvastin and my trygilcerdes were up, I was then prescribed 60 mg atorvastain and eziitimbe. My GP also refered me to the rapid access clinic, as I too have a history of heart disease in my family. I had a number of tests before angina was diagnosed.I am now on medication for this. I would speak to your GP again and ask to be refered yagain .In light of your family history I think your situation probably warrants further investigation. . Good luck
