This is my first time on this,,or an forum, apart from answering a question. I had a (mitral valve replacement just over 4weeks ago. Although exercising, I can still get out of breath crossing the room. Having said that, yesterday was the 1st day I did not feel tired. But, at the same time I did not go out for a walk!. 1/2 mile is what I try/manage.My first question is, how do you know if you are doing too much.exercise, or not enough?

Hi Sam702 4 weeks is very early days on your journey back, remember you have had a major op and our heart don’t like being handled! You are going to have days when you feel really tired listen to your body if you’re tired rest, you need to take baby steps but once you start getting your stamina back you will good to go. With all that’s going on cardio rehab seems to have been stopped so once it’s up and running again really consider going it really helps I found it invaluable as much for my mental health as for my stamina.

I know it can be frustrating but remember baby steps.

Best wishes and stay safe Pauline
