This is the telephone number that Supernanu posted about. I would like to reassure people that this a telephone number set up by NHS Digital Services for Covid-19. If a few people that have received texts could post here to help reassure people it would be appreciated.

Obviously there are endless spammers out there and if anything untoward exercise caution. Thank you...

Thank you Michael for your help (as always).

I presume this phone no. applies only in England? I am in Scotland and received a text today no number given just NHS-No Reply as a tag at the beginning of the text

Morning... I woke earlier with things churning over in my mind. Any I did more research and feel the number is genuine - the link is a genuine NHS one.

However, there are some reports that it is spam. This might though be fake news or spammers may have picked up on this number! If I find out more I will let you know.

One thing not to do is give anyone bank details, or debit or credit card details. The pretence could be to cover perscription charges. These should only be given to your pharmacist/online supplier after you have initiated the call.

Stay safe, stay well....

I would remain deeply suspicious of a number that starts 07, since they are generally reserved for private mobile numbers. An official number would start 0800.

Received a text this morning

GOV UK CORONAVIRUS ALERT

New rules in force now:you must stay at home. More info & exemptions at gov.uk/Coronavirus Stay at home. Protect the NHS. save lives.

No telephone number or anything included. Understand from the BBC that this is going to everyone.

Hope this helps!

This is a coordinated message being sent out by all mobile networks to everyone! There were trials about five years ago so that government could text every mobile user in a national emergency but they never got a-round-tut to implementing it as they probably thought it would never happen!

Hi all, we're going to turn off replies to this post until we can be sure the number is a genuine NHS alert. Thanks.
