Where can I buy a Coaguchek machine?

Our CCG supports self-testing, I'm an eligible candidate, am advised to test from home for my own safety, and my GP practice recommended the Roche Coaguchek XS. I'm slightly overdue a test.

I'm now told they don't sell (but do support) the XS in the UK, you have to order them from the US. The US Roche site says it's run out. The model they sell here is the Roche INRange, I tried Medisave.co.uk and some other sites, but it's also marked as sold out everywhere I've looked.

I'd be happy to get either model but it looks like they're selling out fast, even second-hand ones. People even seem to be exploiting the situation on Amazon and Ebay by charging huge amounts or selling boxes of strips for the price of an actual machine, to make people think they're getting a machine.

Have any of you kind people here got any tips/website links on how to actually get hold of one in the 'current climate'? I've searched for several hours with no luck.

Best wishes and stay safe and well x

The coagucheck XS is the old version of the coagucheck INRange which I have, so GP is slightly out of date on his info.

You need to order one direct from Roche there about £300, and I think that they have sold out as well but always worth a phone call.

I had one of the original coaguchecks many years ago then had to stop as GP stopped prescribing strips.

Where I now live I get testing strips from the nurse led anticoagulant clinic. Saves so much time

Hi Judes, I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.

It took me 16 hours and a sleepless night to track one down, as they're almost out of stock globally! But an act of kindness from a stranger on eBay saved me! She was selling her old XS, as like you, she's upgraded, and she decided to sell it to me for £100 less than I'd offered, even though others had offered more, as she wanted it to go to someone in greatest need rather than the highest bidder. I think my local CCG must prescribe the strips, as they suggested I should get an XS, but it comes with a few strips and everything I need to get started, and tbh I'm past caring if I have to pay for strips anyway. The seller's in the UK and the machine should be with me in a few days, so I'm so relieved!

And for anyone else reading, please be warned that they're v hard to get hold of, don't delay, and be prepared to spend time tracking one down!

In these uncertain times it’s good to have a bit of good news. So glad you managed to get one, I’d be lost without mine, it’s even been to Russia!

I didn’t upgrade mine as where I was living they would provide the testing strips, moved 200 miles nurse led clinic who were more than happy to give me the strips.

If you need any help with it feel free to PM me at any time.

Stay safe and well
