Looks like the appeal from government for retirees from NHS England and Wales to return and help in the crisis is getting a good response. Well done wonderful people we will and always be in debt to you all. Come on Scotland follow suit

I guess in our mind's eye we are all saluting these people, each and every wonderful one of them.

I so hope I get the chance to meet one of these "returning heroes" when this is all over. I'll shake them warmly by the hand, buy them a big drink, and tell them how very, very grateful we all are!

We Scots have had the call out since Tuesday last - and the call is being answered up here every bit as nicely as Down South.

I'm over in Angus (up the glens) and we're seeing many retirees returning to service. I'm sorry Grampian isn't seeing the same.

I am sure they will but as yet no request from NHS Scotland. Golfing yesterday with my friend who is a retired doctor and he will definitely answer the call.

One of the things I'm finding most frustrating about this coronavirus crisis is the way information is not being aggregated well on a central location for each of the four nations. In all honesty, I think Scotland is somewhat ahead of the 'game' (this is no game, I know that) but even here some of the information is being buried under the avalanche of latest news even on official sites like Bute House and NHS Inform.

The call went out on Tuesday afternoon - our FM said it in a televised statement from Edinburgh. But it was too quickly 'buried' in that avalanche and finding the call to return takes several clicks on NHS Inform (your friend should click the 'for professionals' links - but those are down close to the bottom of the front page and are not highlighted).

Completely off topic - my husband is a Grampian lad (Elgin). My folk are Caithness. Lol, we married 'late in life' and compromised - we live in Angus!

I have 4 very close family members who work on the front line, they work so hard and long hours, they’re exhausted at the peak, so very proud of them 👏
