What a lovely thing to organise - I'll be at the door clapping like mad for these hard-working underappreciated people. I have neighbours who are NHS staff, and another who is a chemist at the local pharmacy.

Something else people are doing is putting their Christmas lights back on in part to cheer people up by giving them something socially distance enough to be seen from a car ride or a walk past.

My husband and I aren't up to that climbing ladders thing so we're doing is keeping an LED candle in the front window. Seeing more candles in windows these past few days - I can see several in first floor windows now from my kitchen window.

Great idea - off to find an LED star for the front room window.....

And my family are buying our GP neighbor (can’t stand her husband!) and the doctors opposite us a bottle of wine. My son & his fiancée, both GP’s were bought one each by their neighbours In Liverpool.

A beautiful thought, but please remember that it's not only doctors and nurses who work for the NHS. There are many other professionals such as physiotherapists, physiologists, healthcare scientists etc. Please spare a thought for the scientists who are performing all the tests for coronavirus. They may not be front-line, but they work as hard and selflessly as anyone else.
