Hi

just seeing if anyone else is in limbo because of the corona virus??

I'm waiting for a mechanical aortic valve. Surgery was ? Is booked for 26th in Sheffield. Just tried to contact someone to clarify its going ahead now waiting for call back.I was told last week that surgery is a priority but ...

My anxiety levels are getting worse because of this.

I was diagnosed in January so feel like I've been on lock down since then. Now with what's going on in the country anxiety is worsening.

I know I need to keep calm but easier said than done at this time.

Just wondered if anyone else is in a similar position. Don't want to keep phoning team as I know they are all under so much stress too.

So sorry to read that you are in the middle of this, I can’t help with any information, just wanted to say try and stay calm, as you say easier said than done. Just know that when you do go in to get it done you will be fine, I am nearly 4 years down the road after AVR a tissue one. My life is back on track and so will yours be. If there’s any questions about the op let me know.

Yeah I have been in limbo with my heart since christmas. They haven't got to the bottom of it I just want my life back. I guess alot of treatments and investigations have been put on the backburner. It's like if you are not dying of corona then it's no worries. Hopefully the surgery will go ahead for you next week.

Totally get where you're coming from.

Just come off the phone from the Cardio NP. She was pretty much in agreement that things could find themselves being delayed at the moment. I asked her to clarify how they are managign patients whose condition has been defined as 'urgent' - and all she could offer was to chase things up and see if appointments are still being issued, let alone going ahead.

We will live in strange and dire times. I hope your op still goes ahead, really do.

Hi been waiting for confirmation since Thursday re surgery planned for 26th not going ahead. 2 anaesthetists and a surgeon off sick. 18 other people like me classed as priority! They can't give me a date. I really do understand this dire situation we are in but like you and a few people on here when YOUare sufferring with symptoms it's frightening enough thought I'd had it yesterday did too much. I'm scared but it's out of my control. I need to keep calm. Take care 🙂

It's crazy I was told all routine tests have been cancelled (ct and angios) unless you are classified as urgent by cardiologists opinion. you are on the urgent list so your op is going to happen... but it is horrible when suffering so much. I feel like I am being left to die. I am going to write to the cardiologist because the gp wont.
