Following a review at the Bristol Heart Institute my specialist nurse said there was no point doing an MRI and she'd move to referring me for a CT scan with high contrast to assess my suitability for a TAVI. I forgot to ask if I will be able to go home alone after this procedure or do I need to find a friend to drive me? ANyone had this who can help please?

From my experience I would suggest arranging a lift. The combination of a beta blocker (heart needs to be below 60bpm for clear images), GTN spray (to open arteries) and contrast dye can make you feel a bit squiffy for an hour or so. A dull headache remained all day.

OK, thanks. That's a nuisance as I have to rely on friends being available. I see when I get a date as obviously that may be delayed by CV. I wasn't going to drive anyway as it's more convenient to get the bus.
