Hi
I'm a generally pretty fit and healthy 34 year old bloke, good BMI, usually in the gym 3-4 times a week (though I've given it a wide berth in the last few days). However, I do have a few congenital heart conditions; Bicuspid Aortic Valve with aortic regurgitation and a mild AV block (heart rate is commonly between 35 & 50 BPM as a result). Generally speaking, I'm asymptomatic.
I'm just not entirely clear as to whether this would qualify as an 'underlying health condition' given the serious situation we're now facing with Coronavirus Covid-19. I'm aware that the mortality rate is significantly higher amongst those with cardiovascular disease. At the moment, I'm continuing to live my life as normally as possible, as per government advice.
However, it's entirely possible for me to work from home without great issue, and so given my circumstances should I consider isolating myself out of interest for my health or given that I'm generally fit and healthy am I worrying unnecessarily? I'm not particularly frightened of this virus, but I have a wife and two young children to support and I owe it to them to not take any unnecessary risks should be be more susceptible to complications.
Your thoughts greatly appreciated.
Jonny
