Thanks for all the messages everyone, you know you really aren't alone with a community like this and you also realise that theres folk far worse off than yourself. As one person on here remarked it would be good to hear of the ones who have now had there surgery and how they are progressing with re hab etc, I for one will try and remember this when I reach that stage but I guess its easily done as people get back to living again

new girl on the block
Hi Magicmog12, I had my heart attack in May 2019 I am now on medication only for the time being and am doing fine thanks to the cardiac team in Halifax and Huddersfield hospitals. I have been to rehab and enjoyed that, and tried to do everything they have suggested since. I have been waiting since May for a gall bladder operation and that is going to be done this next week (unless the dreaded virus shuts all the hospitals down) then I can get back to normal and enjoy life again. So grateful for all the help I received and to this forum for all the wonderful support. I hope you get back to a reasonable condition soon. Many thanks to everyone.
Hi, you asked about after open heart surgery, well I am nearly 4 years on now. After the surgery it was baby steps to start with, sleeping on my back wasn’t fun! But it wasn’t too long before I could get on my side! Going to rehab was invaluable apart from getting my stamina back meeting others who have had similar experiences was great for my mental health, those little aches and pains I had finding out others had them to was ok it’s normal. My life is good and I am so grateful to everyone who helped me get to where I am. I have my life back.
I wish you well, best wishes Pauline
