I’ve had AF diagnosed for several months, and the Cardioversion I had reverted back into AF. The second one is holding with the help of a drug, but I’m being recommended an ablation.

I actually feel more well now than I have for many months, and it is hard to voluntarily put myself through another procedure with the associated risks & recovery time. Any advice?

Hi, I’ve not had AF for long and only experienced a handful of episodes. I went straight for an ablation when offered as I was advised the success of the operation ‘can’ yield better outcomes the earlier it’s done.

All that said, AF can be managed well with regular medication so it has to be the right choice for you.

I would do it again if I had to.
