I am struggling to get travel insurance because of having a loop recorder fitted. Has anyone else come across this problem?

A Loop Recorder is normally fitted when ECGs or Holter monitoring have been unable to determine to cause of the symptoms.

As such the travel insurance company would probably regard you as having a, as yet, undiagnosed problem. In these circumstances they tend to decline to provide cover

Hi I had a terrible time trying to get insurance due to many problems including waiting for tests due to heart failure to see if I was suitable to have a crt-d implant. I found that insure and escape where the only company that would cover me for all my problems and were very reasonable price wise

According to Money Supermarket, a loop recorder is an implantable rhythm recording device and IS NOT considered to be further investigation or treatment.

I had a loop fitted over two years ago now and I never had a problem, it was stated on my insurance but didn’t increase the premiums. I use Staysure and have done for approximately 5 years, I ski twice a year and had a pacemaker fitted 20 months ago, so my premiums increased after that but not vastly, give them a try, you might be pleasantly surprised. It may depend on why you have a loop .
