Have been taking 2.5 mg my since a HA 11 months ago. Due for review soon & feel at end of tether with insomnia ( never had before & assume caused by the bisoprolol) & feeling so 'flat'. Anything else I can ask to try or by definition do all be beta-blockers have similar effects?

Hiya! I had a HA 9 months and was put on 5mg Bisoprolol I find with taking Bisoprolol that they make me feel very tired at one point they were reduced 2.5mg but it had no effect with the tiredness and got put back to 5mg what I have noticed In the last few months is that I'm getting nightmares which I have never suffered from before I'm sure there must be alternatives to Bisoprolol

I will be going back to see my consultant in March and hoping that I can get prescribed something different

People on the forum report improvements to general tiredness on Nebivolol, but I have asked to change and the EP disagreed. I would still like to try it but I guess all beta blockers are medications to slow our heart rate and that will make us feel 'flat' - no oomph.

Hi. I changed from Bisoprolol to Atenolol and felt better after about a week. Doesn’t hurt to try something else. Good luck 👍

I've been changed to Ivabradine because of fatigue and vertigo. Fatigue not much better but vertigo much better.

Can relate to the tiredness bit..not physical just constantly yawning. When diagnosed with Afib was initially on propranolol which seriously disrupted my sleep. When switched to Bisopropol the insomnia improved but still get the occasional sleepless spell usually after a nocturnal trip to the loo. Just stick on the tv..for an hour then nod off again.
