My father went to A and E Monday, he felt very weak, dizzy and high BP and he thought he would pass out. He is 79 and has a metal aortic valve. He has been suffering with erratic /labile high BP for last 3 weeks, even as high as 200/55 then drops down. Ambulance came 3 weeks ago but did ecg which was fine. Anyway at A and E he had an ecg which was fine but troponin level was 16, and 16 when repeated after couple of hours. The dr has referred him to 2 week rapid access. He sees a cardiologist annually for his metal heart valve and is on warfarin (INR is in range) . Is it worth me phoning consultants secretary to see if he can see him. He was hoping the hospital would keep him in as when he gets a turn, he feels very weak. He also has a leaky mitral valve which has never caused him any problems.

Hi Mollypet,
I would make the phone call, you never know this may get your father seen quicker or at least some advice \ guidance from the consultant that knows your father.
