UTI and severe heart failure

Have severe heart failure and now have UTI but now feeling breathless even after small activity. Don't know whether to contact doctor or wait till antibiotics are finished. A

Definitely contact your doctor in the morning. However if things worsen and definitely if you get chest pain ring 111 or even 999. UTIs can be hard to shift and sometimes require intravenous antibiotics in a hospital environment. I had one once after surgery and felt totally carp!

Good you are seeing your doctor. UTI need immediate attention. The bacteria can spread to your kidneys and create even more complications. Be sure your doc takes a urine culture to determine the type of bacteria creating the UTI in that research has shown different bacteria require different types of antibiotics. Take the full prescribed tablets and have another culture to make sure all is clear. Bacteria can find areas in your bladder to hide and then multiply so another UTI pops up months later. I know from experience.

My doctor put me on a cranberry tablet called Ellura. It’s been a God send for me. It’s a tablet that is highly concentrated using the cranberry properties that have been proven to keep you bladder healthy. If your a woman be sure to urinate after sex, also after being in a hot tub. Other tips from my urologist.

Thank you, I was given antibiotics on Saturday and they seem to be doing the trick on the UTI. It's the breathlessness I am going to see doc about. They also sent a sample away for culture.
