prednisilone steroids
I have been on prednisone for a very long time and was on amatriptalin I found out I had heart failure in April and my heart doctor doesn't like the idea of me being on them try and speak to your heart doctor or see if they have a heart nurse and explain to them they are really helpful and will put your mind at ease I had to stop taking a lot of my meds due to my heart failure its better to be safe than sorry hope this helps
In short, yes it is possible that the corticosteroid (prednisilone) is increasing your heart rate, it may also increase your blood pressure slightly as well. If you are concerned about either, go back to your GP.
I was prescribed prednisolone steroids a week ago to deal with a flare up of my rheumatoid arthritis. I was taken off my main med for rheumatoid arthritis, methotrexate, because of my heart failure but it means I'm getting more arthritis flare ups. Last week my flare up was so bad the GP decided I needed steroids. Yesterday I experienced a number of palpitations and did wonder if they maybe linked to the steroids? I hadn't been drinking much, just one small glass of wine, and staying away from caffeine all as directed by my Cardiologist.
