Another piece of research about working long office hours and the impact on hidden high blood pressure.
Not really surprised, when you think that for the whole of human existence we've lived in low density communities as hunter/gatherers, then the Industrial Revolution moved us into towns and cities working in factories, but at least we were still active. Now the Tech Revolution has moved us into offices/call centres sitting at a desk in front of a screen all day, living in crowded mega cities and being chronically inactive. It's amazing that we've been able to adapt to such rapid and continuing change - or have we?
Well this doesn't surprise me. We are so far from our roots now, and the incessant pressure of work certainly did for me! (Not office based, but in NHS). There are 2 people of working age at my Cardio Rehab group. Me, a mental health nurse, and a social worker, both of us working in dreadfully resourced areas but with target pressure which is totally un-doable!
