Hi everyone. My husband is due to have a stress test tomorrow following on from the discovery of a 50percent blockage in his main artery. Question is, what questions should we be asking before and after the results please? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hoping it shows up good news and want to make sure we ask all the appropriate questions when we see the cardiologist afterwards. Thank u in advance.
Stress Test?: Hi everyone. My husband... - British Heart Fou...
Stress Test?
What type of stress test - there are different ones?
I have had 2 done and each time had to wait for results, but am sure if it's anything bad he would be called back sooner for treatment.
A friend had an exercise ECG (one type of stress test). He was admitted on the spot and had a bypass five days later. If anything really serious is found the NHS acts very quickly. If your husband is reasnobly fit with minor or no symptoms this is incredibly unlikely to happen just the three to four week wait.
Remember to take a book or decent newspaper with you.
I had exercise stress test on treadmill ,, that will or should show up , he will be attached to ECG ,and blood pressure monitor throughout it ,, ( they use cycles too ) or If he’s so unfit a drug which makes heart stress the same ,,, like one answer here if so bad he will be kept in ,,, I got my stents fitted the following week, good luck
